why i write

i write not to profess, but to process.

and-hopeful- my writing can sometimes serve as an offering, which might just land on another in a way that is helpful.

the brilliant fred buechner offers about writing:

“I talk about my life anyway because if, on the one hand, hardly anything could be less important, on the other hand, hardly anything could be more important. My story is important not because it is mine, God knows, but because if I tell it anything like right, the chances are you will recognize that in many ways it is also yours…”

for me, writing is one of my meditations. when I’m writing, i feel present, connected, and often inspired.

i wonder if the same might hold true for you?
